Miklós Szánthó Joins NYYRC Board of Advisors

The New York Young Republican Club is proud to announce that the Director General of the Center for Fundamental Rights, Mr. Miklós Szánthó, has agreed to join its Board of Advisors. The Club’s Board of Advisors includes conservative thought leaders who guide the New York Young Republican Club in directing its energies and priorities. The Club’s Board of Governors has confidence that Mr. Szánthó will make valuable contributions to the Club by serving in this capacity.

As Director General of the Center for Fundamental Rights, Mr. Szánthó leads the organization in its mission to counter the globalist vision of destroying Western society. The Center plays a key role in the transatlantic effort to develop connections between conservatives. Most recently, the Center hosted the second annual CPAC Hungary conference in Budapest, Hungary, bringing together thousands of conservatives under the theme of “United We Stand.” The Center also publishes books in Hungarian and English and engages in legal research and analysis.

Club President Mr. Gavin Wax noted that: “Miklós operates at an unmatched level in fostering connections between American and European conservatives. We value him both for his academic, fact-driven approach to decision-making and analysis, as well as his ability to inspire teams to perform at the highest level. Miklós’s willingness to push back against leftist tyranny and fake news lies show inspirational mettle, and we are proud that our members will benefit from his insight as he serves on our Board of Advisors.”

Mr. Szánthó expressed his gratitude for the honor of being appointed as the first member of the Board of Advisors from continental Europe. He highlighted his firm belief that this distinction is a reflection of the fact that New York and Hungarian conservatives stand shoulder to shoulder in the civilizational struggle against the increasingly barbaric forces of the global Left. He noted the special courage it takes to stand up for our shared values of God, Homeland, and Family. Szánthó warned that our adversaries had twisted our world beyond recognition. This is particularly evident when it comes to the war in Ukraine: as Liberals agitate for more violence, it has fallen to us as conservatives to demand in the name of common sense: “Make Kids not War” – a sentiment once shared even by hippies in San Francisco.

The addition of Mr. Szánthó to the Board of Advisors follows the February 22, 2023, partnership agreement between the Club and the Center. The agreement signed by Mr. Szánthó and Mr. Wax in Budapest, Hungary, on that date noted that:

Conservatives around the world are confronted with similar threats. […] Although the proponents of globalist liberalism claim that international cooperation between conservative forces is intrinsically unthinkable, we will prove them wrong. An ocean divides us, yet we are confronted with the same politically correct, woke formula in Europe and America. We do not think in terms of supranationalism, but in terms of cooperation between national forces.

The Budapest-based Center for Fundamental Rights (Alapjogokért Központ) is a Hungarian research institute dealing with legal analysis since 2013. The Center considers preserving national identity, sovereignty, and Christian social traditions as its mission, especially amongst the 21st century’s heightened process of globalization, integration, geopolitical, and technological changes, affecting the field of law as well. Therefore the Center for Fundamental Rights had the honor of being the first organization in Europe to host the Conservative Political Action Conference, CPAC Hungary.

Established in 1911, and incorporated in 1912, with a legacy from 1856, the New York Young Republican Club is the oldest, largest, and most prestigious Young Republican club in the United States. Today, it is the most vocal America First organization operating in the New York Metropolitan Area and among the most vocal nationally, and it sets the trend for innovation in young adult outreach supporting local, state, and federal political candidates. The Club is affiliated with and officially recognized by the Association of New York State Young Republican Clubs and the Young Republican National Federation, as well as the county, state, and national Republican committees.
