Endorsement: Shery Olivo for New York State Assembly (AD-86)

By October 29, 2026No Comments

The New York Young Republican Club is proud to endorse Shery Olivo for the New York State Assembly in the 86th District. Shery is running on the Conservative line and she represents exactly what The Bronx has been missing in Albany: a fighter who comes from the community, not from the machine.

Shery is a daughter of The Bronx. She grew up in the borough, graduated from Morris High School, and today lives in Claremont with her husband and their two children. Shery earned a culinary arts degree from Monroe College and a bachelor’s in education. She is a businesswoman, an author, and a community activist who has spent years working on education programs and supporting women and Latino families. Shery is also making history as the first Dominican-American woman to run for the NY State Assembly as a Conservative.

Her agenda is common sense. Shery wants streets where families feel safe, which means holding repeat violent offenders accountable and rebuilding trust between residents and police. She wants schools that serve their students, with more resources for underfunded neighborhoods, after-school programs, mentorship and literacy.

For decades, The Bronx has been treated as a one-party fiefdom. Voters have been taken for granted while public safety slipped, schools fell behind, and working families were priced out. Shery has already beaten entrenched interests once, winning her fight to stay on the Conservative ballot this year. Now the voters of the 86th District have a real choice.

On Tuesday, November 3, we urge every voter in the 86th District to support Shery Olivo on the Conservative line. We call on our members to join her campaign in the final days, knocking doors, making calls, and showing The Bronx that the Conservative Party is here to stay.
