The prospective arrest of former President Donald J. Trump on charges levied by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is an affront to all Americans, especially New Yorkers.
Bragg has priorities wildly askew from a professional serving in his role. While his office levies reduced charges on people arrested for violent crimes, he has committed untold resources to the dogged pursuit of President Trump over allegations deemed without merit by both Bragg’s predecessor, Cyrus Vance Jr., and federal prosecutors.
The timing is no coincidence; it is an embarrassment to our country, particularly given the fact that President Trump recently declared his bid for re-election in 2024. The political hacks in our justice system are targeting the leader of the opposition party in a blatant effort to kneecap him. Meanwhile, leftist prosecutors at all level of government refuse to prosecute genuine criminality swirling around the Biden family’s acquisition of funds from China.
How can Americans maintain any faith in our nation’s justice system, when there are clearly two tiers?
Democrats’ purposeful efforts in manipulating the organs of state power to persecute those who oppose their radical agenda mark our nation as no better than a banana republic. They have shown their naked intent to make examples out of their most well-known dissidents.
Bragg and his ilk have a clear message to Americans: Stay silent or you are next. But The New York Young Republican Club will not bow down to the mob, and neither should you. For that reason, we will hold a peaceful rally today in Manhattan to protest Bragg’s abuse of power and attacks on President Trump. We hope to see you there.
