2026 NY State Republican General Election Voter Guide

By November 1, 2026No Comments

Early voting is now open in New York City. The New York Young Republican Club calls on all registered Republicans and conservatives to vote in the general elections in the races below. This voter guide summarizes our endorsements, highlights Club members running in competitive races, and outlines our thoughts on the future of New York State and New York City after November 3rd, 2026.

We encourage everyone to vote on the Conservative line where possible. The Conservative Party helps to field strong candidates who might not otherwise make the ballot, and offers New Yorkers additional choices. Having a wide range of parties is a unique part of New York State’s political character, and voting on the Conservative line helps to keep this tradition alive.

Statewide Races

The New York Young Republican Club recommends voting for Bruce Blakeman for Governor and Todd Hood for Lieutenant Governor. Mr. Blakeman is an exceptional Nassau County Executive and 9/11 Port Authority Commissioner. He will cut taxes, lower utility bills, and repeal the soft-on-crime policies that have made our city less safe. New York State should be the greatest state in the country, but Kathy Hochul’s ruinous policies have resulted in productive taxpayers fleeing our state. Mr. Blakeman would change course and allow our state to thrive. He will stand up to Zohran Mamdani and prevent him from passing the most radical parts of his agenda. Sheriff Todd Hood has decades of law-enforcement experience and would help Mr. Blakeman make our state safer and better. Together, Mr. Blakeman and Mr. Hood will put our state back on the right path!

Vote Bruce Blakeman for Governor

The New York Young Republican Club recommends voting for Saritha Komatireddy for Attorney General. Ms. Komatireddy is a proven prosecutor who has gone after some of the worst threats facing our city, including Mexican drug cartels and Islamic terrorists. She served as Chief of Staff of the Drug Enforcement Administration and understands the biggest challenges in criminal law enforcement. Her opponent, Letitia James, has gone after President Trump on baseless charges and has targeted numerous conservative organizations. Ms. James wields the power of the state as a weapon against her political opponents while permitting criminals to freely roam our streets. Ms. Komatireddy is ready to eliminate waste, target criminals, and make New York safer!

Vote Saritha Komatireddy for Attorney General

The New York Young Republican Club recommends voting for Joseph Hernandez for State Comptroller. An experienced businessman, Mr. Hernandez will put our state back on the right foot financially. He will root out fraud, waste, and corruption, while ensuring responsible stewardship of the state’s finances.

Vote Joseph Hernandez for State Comptroller

National Races

The New York Young Republican Club endorses Caroline Shinkle for Congress. Residents of NY-12 should vote for Ms. Shinkle to elect a strong Republican who can help President Trump secure his legacy in the second half of his term. Republicans maintaining control of Congress will ensure that ICE has the funding it needs to carry out mass deportations and will advance a legislative agenda that helps President Trump, rather than hindering him when he most needs support. Ms. Shinkle is an experienced economist and attorney, ready to lower taxes, improve education, and ensure our national security for decades to come.

Vote Caroline Shinkle for Congress in NY-12

The New York Young Republican endorses Mike LiPetri for Congress. Residents of NY-03 should vote for Mr. LiPetri in order for Republicans to keep the House! He is running in one of the most important races this cycle, and President Trump’s agenda may hinge on this election. Mr. LiPetri was a strong conservative State Assemblyman and an excellent attorney for the New York City Law Department. He will support law enforcement officers, secure our border, and be a strong voice for fiscal sanity in Washington. Long Island and Queens deserve Republican representatives who share their values, and Mr. LiPetri is an inspiring example.

Vote Mike LiPetri for Congress in NY-03

Ballot Propositions

The New York Young Republican Club recommends voting No on all ballot propositions. All of the propositions would give more power to City Council and the Mayor, while removing power from ordinary New Yorkers who strive to preserve their neighborhoods. Proposal 5 in particular would give the Mayor a slush fund to spend on whatever he pleases, rather than create a true emergency fund for New York City.

Vote “No” on All Ballot Propositions

Brooklyn

In Assembly District 26, the New York Young Republican Club endorses Tom Stanten for State Assembly. Mr. Stanten is a United States Navy veteran, a former NYPD detective, and a leader in the Sunset Park community. He will improve public transit, protect gifted and talented programs, and ensure that our brave law enforcement officers have the best in funding and training. Assembly District 26 is a great opportunity for a Republican pick-up, and we are confident that Mr. Staten is the best man for the task!

In Assembly District 48, the New York Young Republican Club endorses Michael Novakhov for reelection. State Assemblyman Novakhov is a strong conservative voice in Albany, taking on Kathy Hochul and standing up for the real New Yorkers in his district. He is a passionate advocate against crime, and will improve schools for all New York students. State Assemblyman Novakhov truly represents the American dream. He will work to keep that dream alive for as many New York families as possible.

State Assemblyman Chang is a United States Navy Reserve veteran, a lifelong New Yorker, and an honest  patriot. He will work to increase affordability, lower taxes and utility bills, restore meritocracy in high school admissions, and keep dangerous homeless shelters out of residential areas. Mr. Chang is one of the strongest Republican voices in Albany, and we need him to keep fighting the good fight for another term.

The New York Young Republican Club is proud to endorse Etan Harris for Kings County Civil Court Judge. Civil court judges decide important cases including financial disputes over large sums of money or property. Their decisions also help to create precedent that will be used for decades in other cases. Mr. Harris is an experienced civil litigator who will bring unbiased justice to these cases.

In Assembly District 30, the New York Young Republican Club endorses Brandon Castro for State Assembly. Mr. Castro will improve quality of life for young New Yorkers by increasing funding for programs that allow them to graduate with real-world skills. Mr. Castro is a shining example of a young Republican working to improve his city and his state, and we are thrilled to support his future career.

Ms. Michos also has a plan to reduce taxes on hardworking middle class families and will make our state safer through increased funding for law enforcement.

Message from the Club

In this November 3rd, 2026 general election, the fate of President Trump’s agenda hangs in the balance. If Democrats retake the House, they will spend every waking hour trying to make life harder for President Trump, his officials, and the ordinary American families who are working hard to secure their futures. It is through this election that we have the opportunity to realize mass deportations. It is through this election that we may secure President Trump’s legacy. It is through this election that will determine if this country will be drawn inexorably down the path of socialism, or the path of freedom.

Closer to home, Governor Kathy Hochul is vulnerable. Bruce Blakeman is a strong candidate who can turn around Albany and change the status quo that has led to a massive population loss, as hardworking citizens flee to states with more favorable business environments. Candidate for Attorney General Saritha Komatireddy is the best candidate to defeat lawfare warrior-in-chief Letitia James. Candidate for State Comptroller Joseph Hernandez will improve the state’s finances and restore balance to the budget.

In the State Assembly and State Senate, our endorsed incumbents have done phenomenal work in Albany to improve their constituents lives. They have succeeded in passing bills for veterans, students, and law enforcement officers. The new candidates for State Assembly and State Senate that we have endorsed all have the chance to flip Democrat districts and increase Republican representation in New York State.

Many pundits believe that the November 3rd, 2026 election will be a difficult one. There is nothing more important than getting out there and voting. Encourage your friends and family to vote too. Every single vote matters, and the entire country is counting on us to make America, New York State, and New York City great again!
