Dear Friends, Supporters, and Members of the AfD:
It is an honor to congratulate your party on its victories in the September 6, 2026 state election in Saxony-Anhalt, where Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) achieved its strongest result to date, winning 43.8% of the vote and 39 of the 83 seats in the state parliament. We understand that the party more than doubled its 20.8% result from the 2021 election and finished far ahead of Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU), which received 17.2% of the vote after governing Saxony-Anhalt for nearly 24 years. With voter turnout reaching approximately 78%, one of the highest levels recorded in the state, this is a clear mandate for your party and a promising signal for the future of your great nation. We were also happy to see AfD performing strongly among younger voters. We wish our friend Ulrich Siegmund and team the best in forming a government and avowedly believe the AfD will have an outright parliamentary majority in the next election. The CDU truly must assess its future and that of coalitions in the German government, if it really wishes to serve and protect the German people.
It has been an honor to be a spectator and supporter of the AfD’s success over the past years, especially since our delegation to Saxony-Anhalt in 2024. We have been honored to meet with your party as well in Berlin multiple times and Hamburg just a few months ago, and we are excited for what is to come! Know that whoever the Republican Party chooses to represent us in 2028, they will be beholden to their voters, and Republican voters see ourselves as kith and kin with our nationalist European allies. If we unite on common ground, America will not leave Europe behind in our quest to build a stronger civilization together.
