By March 4, 2021No Comments

The New York Young Republican Club is proud to endorse Steven Matteo for Staten Island Borough President.

A native, lifelong Staten Island resident and son of an NYPD officer, Steven is currently a six-year minority leader in City Council’s 50th District. In seeking to replace term-limited James Oddo—for whom he began his career in public service with from 2004-2006—Steven aims to support the creation of more Business Improvement Districts and merchant associations, drive the completion of an HOV lane along the Staten Island Expressway, and reduce litter across the borough, to start. During his seven years in City Council, he has demonstrated his deep knowledge of the borough and of the public services responsible for enacting productive growth via his passing of 22 authored bills around littering and dumping enforcement, youth emergency health, and travel infrastructure.

He also passed the Alternative Veterans Property Tax Exemption, which provided significant property tax relief for those who have served in the military and their families. Endorsed by the Detectives Endowment Association and the Amalgamated Transit Workers Union (Staten Island MTA bus drivers), Steven’s established and thorough public service experience, relentless support of small business and quality-of-life initiatives, and strong familiarity with the Staten Island community will serve the borough—as he has all of New York City—well.

The New York Young Republican Club urges all voters within Staten Island to stop the rising tide of Communism and cronyism by supporting Steven Matteo to serve as their Borough President.
