Endorsement: Paul Rodriguez for New York City Council (CD38)

By November 5, 2023No Comments

The New York Young Republican Club is proud to endorse Paul Rodriguez for New York City Council District 38 in Brooklyn.

Rodriguez is a non-profit development professional for a large faith-based institution who began his career as an equity research analyst and moved up to become a global banker servicing multinational corporations in the United States and abroad. Rodriguez has almost three decades of experience funding, financing, and investing money in some of the world’s most widely-recognized financial institutions, including Salomon Brothers, Merrill Lynch, UBS, BBVA, and ANZ.

A Queens native, Rodriguez was born to immigrant and veteran parents and developed a passion for community service while helping his single mother make ends meet. He eventually became an Executive Board member of the Brooklyn-Kings County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Manhattan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. He also became a mentor in the Youth Empowerment for Success program at Children’s Aid. Through his work for these organizations, his devotion to community service eventually propelled him to become more politically engaged.

After becoming the President of a splinter entity of the New York Young Republican Club, Rodriguez ran for Congress and in 2021 was the Conservative Party nominee for New York City Comptroller. In 2022, Rodriguez was the endorsed Republican and Conservative nominee for New York State Comptroller, earning nearly 2.5 million votes, the highest of any challenger in decades. Currently, Rodriguez serves as State Chairman of the New York Chapter of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly (RNHA).

Rodriguez is committed to crafting and promoting tough-on-crime policies, empowering parents over bureaucrats when it comes to children’s experiences in school, tackling New York City’s homelessness crisis, protecting neighborhoods from overdevelopment, cutting red tape so that small businesses can flourish, and putting more control in the hands of residents in terms of the housing crisis.

Rodriguez has the experience and perseverance needed to become a successful advocate for the people of New York City, and the New York Young Republican Club encourages all registered voters of New York City Council District 38 to vote for Paul Rodriguez on November 7th!
