The New York Young Republican Club is proud to endorse Colin Schmitt for New York’s 18th Congressional District. A lifelong Hudson Valley resident, Schmitt currently serves in the New York State Assembly as a member from the 99th district, representing parts of Orange and Rockland counties. Schmitt’s public service experience began in high school, where he was the youngest aide ever hired by the New York State Assembly. In addition to his government service, Assemblyman Schmitt serves as a Sergeant in the Army National Guard.

While a student at Catholic University, Schmitt founded the non-partisan government reform political action committee, New Dawn NY, which focused on promoting budget and ethics reform as well as job creation. Upon graduation, Schmitt joined the office of Senator Greg Ball, becoming the Director of Operations over the NYS Senate Veterans, Homeland Security, and Military Affairs Committee.

Assemblyman Schmitt has spent his career advocating for tax relief, ethics reform, and community preservation. Schmitt’s lifelong advocacy for ethics reform makes him a timely and much-needed voice for congress.

If elected to Congress, Schmitt vows to strengthen the United States borders and bolster national security, fight for tax relief for families and seniors, strengthen the economy and empower small businesses, back the police, and support Israel while fighting anti-Semitism. The New York Young Republican Club strongly urges all New York residents living in the 18th Congressional District to vote in support of Colin Schmitt.
