The New York Young Republican Club is proud to endorse former Assemblyman Colin Schmitt for New Windsor Town Supervisor, the largest municipal government in Orange County, New York. The Republican primary will take place on June 27th, 2023, and for the first time in 30 years, no incumbent is running to serve in this position. Schmitt is running on both the Republican and Conservative lines.
As a New York State Assemblyman for four years representing New Windsor, as the former Chief of Staff to the New Windsor Town Supervisor, and as an appointed member of the local government currently in the area, Schmitt is well-equipped to lead the residents of New Windsor in a way that prioritizes their safety and prosperity. “The Town of New Windsor needs new energized, competent leadership to secure its future. I have had the privilege to serve and represent my neighbors in New Windsor at the state and local level and now I am ready to step up and serve as Town Supervisor. With unmatched knowledge and experience to run local government I am ready to run and will win any primary or general election campaign necessary to serve this wonderful town my wife and I care deeply about. I thank the countless local residents who reached out urging me to seek this position. I am ready on day one to run an effective, efficient and competent operation at Town Hall,” states Schmitt.
Schmitt has received extensive support and endorsements from community leaders, business leaders, several former Deputy Supervisors of New Windsor, the Town of New Windsor Highway Superintendent, the Chairman of the Orange County Conservative Party, and other members of the community. Schmitt’s top priorities include public safety, economic development and affordability, and preservation and well-being for the community. His years-long commitment to public service is exemplified not only by his time as an Assemblyman, during which he delivered funding for local infrastructure and cut taxes, but also by his grassroots, community-oriented work with small businesses and conservative activists.
A family man and sergeant of the U.S. Army National Guard, Schmitt promises to use his conservative values, dependable work ethic, and vast experience to continue to deliver results for the people of New Windsor. The New York Young Republican Club encourages all registered Republicans to vote for Colin Schmitt on June 27th.
