Endorsement: Brandon Castro for New York State Assembly (AD-30)

By February 25, 2026No Comments

Queens needs a hero: a principled and steadfast advocate for all the city’s residents. And Queens residents know that Brandon Castro, son of Woodside, is a steadfast advocate for truth and leadership in the face of adversity. Brandon is running to represent Woodside, Maspeth, Elmhurst, and Jackson Heights in the New York State Assembly, and the New York Young Republican Club is proud to support him.

A graduate of Queens College, Brandon Castro has been a fighter for the community’s youth, and a resource for our local businesses. He has worked to improve the lives of young men and women, advocating for self-improvement, personal responsibility, and confidence-building habits. He has a unique appreciation for the role of mentors in the lives of the city’s youth. Castro’s unwavering determination fuels his drive to bring responsible and forward-facing leadership to Woodside, Maspeth, Elmhurst, and Jackson Heights. In 2024, amidst the twin crises of affordability and quality of life, Brandon Castro stepped forth as the alternative to the socialist machine. In the heart of the supposed “Commie Corridor,” neighborhoods diverse in age, race, and class, Castro was the best performing Republican nominee in the district in a generation. He has entered the political arena to bring a new voice and new leadership to the communities he grew up in. He is therefore an invaluable partner of the New York Young Republican Club.

Castro has since worked as a Community Liaison at NYC Small Business Services, and has assisted over 1,000 businesses in his district understand the morass of regulations which impose upon them under the rule of the liberal machine. He believes that every New Yorker deserves advocacy and excellence from their representative in the New York State Assembly. Empathetic, and a good listener, he has built bridges to every community within AD 30. He is a living testament to the prospect of our interborough and multicultural Republican coalition in New York and its viability.

Woodside, Maspeth, Elmhurst, and Jackson Heights remain in dire straits. In Zohran Mamdani’s city, and Kathy Hochul’s state, the NYPD cannot be depended upon to secure our beautiful public spaces and businesses. Homelessness and sexual exploitation continues unabated and enabled by the left. Too many working-class and immigrant students are falling through gaps in our education system and after-school programmings, or the lack thereof. And the dense infrastructure of Western Queens, from aging overpasses to dilapidated metro stations, is due for investments through the lens of common sense. Brandon Castro is ready to fight for all. He will fight for homeowners and renters, drivers and straphangers, public employees who embrace excellence, and our heroes in law enforcement and emergency services.

Castro’s vision for Queens begins with the fundamentals of a thriving city: individual resilience and skills. Equipping the youth with the tools to build careers and wealth. Embodying the culture of individual excellence. While the Democrats, and the socialist machine, sees the taxpayers as an ATM for their welfare state, Castro reveres the taxpayers as the foundation of a sustainable and thriving community. As a coalition partner, he can be trusted to hold the line on burdensome state and city taxes, and welcome profitable investment to enhance talent and opportunity across the borough and across the city.

The New York Young Republican Club trusts Castro’s unparalleled grasp of community needs in the 30th Assembly District. We trust his KLM determination, and his record of advocacy and service. We stand ready to support his common sense agenda of economic opportunity and community resilience. Brandon Castro can turn the page on failed leadership, and write the next chapter for Woodside, Maspeth, Jackson Heights, and Elmhurst.

Vote Brandon Castro on Tuesday, November 3rd.
