The New York Young Republican Club mourns the loss of Charles James Kirk, 31, to an assassin’s bullet in Utah yesterday afternoon. As young conservatives, many of us entered politics via Charlie’s organization, Turning Point USA. We take his assassination personally. Charlie built Turning Point into a conservative powerhouse that unites millions of young men and women under the banner of free markets and free minds, liberating them from radical liberal ideologies and the brainwashing of their youths. He fought the venom of the radical left with open debate and free-wheeling discussions, not with anger or violence. Charlie was in the business of changing minds. Because the left could not change his mind, they had to silence it. Along with so many millions of heartbroken Americans, we mourn his untimely loss and rue what the future holds for America.
Charlie, your fight is over, but ours is just beginning. The vote that you so prized will never again be cast, though your memory will inspire the new generation to march forward in our dystopic American nightmare. With the blood of moderate conservatism spilled at the hands of the radical left, the status quo must give; we are all Charlie Kirk now, and we must live accordingly. You took the bullet meant for President Donald J. Trump last July, and you are the first martyr of the coming Revolution. As the shots fired at President Trump in Butler paralleled Lexington and Concord, the coward’s bullet that struck you in Utah was our Bunker Hill. America is exactly 250 years from the beginning of the Revolutionary War, and our tender hearts increasingly cannot escape the conclusion that, against our will, violence lies at the doorstep of our Homeland.
Yesterday, Caesar’s men crossed the Rubicon. As the voice of 1,867 Young Republicans in New York, we emphasize that this is not the end of the American Right, but a new beginning. From the ashes of moderate conservatism will arise a new power, and from the blood of our martyr a new hope. The Stars and Stripes fly low today, and our hearts lie broken. We, Young Republicans, want only better futures for our spouses and children; we want our posterity to live better lives than we have. But the left must not err and think that we will kneel and die if we are shown the barrel of a gun. In the immortal words of the first modern Republican president, a man himself assassinated by a political opponent, “a house divided against itself cannot stand.” Well, Mr. Lincoln, our house may be divided, but we will stand for America to our dying breath. Charlie’s murder will not be in vain as we continue our Forward March.
Now we must fight a war we did not seek. In recent years, particularly after the deadly race riots and lockdowns of 2020, the American Right has catalogued a growing coterie of leftist extremist organizations that want to drown America in blood and violence. Their lodestar is Satan and their paths are lit by the embers of Hell; their enemies are all that is beautiful, good, and holy. Our national response to Charlie’s assassination must include the immediate investigation and dismantling of these groups and their members, which pose clear and present dangers to the United States. Such groups include but are not limited to:
- Radical transgender organizations and ideologues;
- All decentralized antifa-related organizations and groups, large and small;
- Black Lives Matter and their affiliates, along with all leftist groups that endorse violence to achieve political goals, including John Brown Gun Clubs;
- All organizations and groups organizing protest and resistance toward ICE, such as the Detention Watch Network, Immigration Defense Project, ICE Out of California, Refugees International, and We Are Casa (there are dozens of others);
- Democratic Socialists of America and its youth wing;
- Socialist Alternative;
- Party for Socialism and Liberation; and
- Communist Party USA.
The leadership and functionaries of such organizations are a crystal-clear threat to the American Nation, poison our youth, and violently attack missionaries like the inimitable Charlie. They must be uprooted hook, line, and sinker from the public discourse; their tendrils must be torn from the university system; they must be splintered into a thousand pieces and scattered to the winds. Every leftist think tank must be investigated, every fifth column professor questioned, and every masked antifa street thug jailed – we hear there is plenty of room in Alligator Alcatraz or even in the facilities of our dear friend President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador. As our then-Executive Secretary Viswanag B. Burra stated at our 2022 Annual Gala, “This is the only language the left understands: the language of pure and unadulterated power. […] And to blatant acts of war, we shall answer with acts of war!”
On a most somber closing note, the New York Young Republican Club sends our sincere condolences to Charlie’s wife Erika and their two young children. Their husband and father, a faithful Christian and American Patriot, has become the first Martyr of the activist modern Right. September 10, 2025 is a day that will live in infamy, but our posterity will claim it as the day the New Right was born. May Charlie reach Heaven speedily and intercede on our behalf from there.
This is the turning point, USA, and there is no going back; we will face the future with courage and honor. What has been set in motion cannot be undone!
