The NYYRC Accepts the Resignation of Chairman Gavin M. Wax

By October 19, 2025No Comments

There is no place within the Young Republican movement for division. The New York Young Republican Club has always stood to build the YR movement up, not tear it down. We empathize with the 10 members of RestoreYR whose reputations and careers were destroyed for private, internal messages. To those who fell victim to this situation that does not involve our organization’s current leadership: our Board of Governors rejects the article, we had no involvement in its publication, and we are committed to building a movement where Republicans need not fear their own.

With Gavin Wax as our President, the New York Young Republican Club was the first to endorse President Donald J. Trump’s 2024 campaign. We stood with President Trump when few others would, and it is with that same courage that we must now welcome a new era of leadership; today, the New York Young Republican Club accepts the resignation of Gavin Mario Wax as our Chairman. We thank Gavin for his tenure of dedicated leadership to our Club, during which he restored it from obscurity to its rightful prominence.

In light of recent developments and revelations, Gavin stepped down so the Club can continue its mission unimpeded, which our storied institution has carried forward since our formal establishment in 1911, with a preceding legacy tracing back to 1856. His resignation underscores the clear separation between the Club’s affairs and a separate matter involving Gavin alone. This matter does not reflect the views, actions, or values of the Club, its leadership, or its membership. We accept his resignation with sadness and are grateful for his nearly seven years of loyal service.
