India or Pakistan? NYYRC Recommends Reverse H-1B Visa Program

Last night, the Indian military bombed Pakistani territory in a dangerous escalation between two nuclear-armed countries. The strikes came two weeks after Pakistani terrorists senselessly murdered 26 innocent Christians and Hindus in Pahalgam, Kashmir. In that attack, terrorists shot and killed civilians who could not recite Islamic verses on command. India says that Pakistan, which has a long history of supporting Islamic terror, trained and directed the terrorists who carried out this heinous act.

The attack in Pahalgam was evil, brutal, and senseless. Nonetheless, it occurred in an area administered by India, not in the United States. The first responsibility of the American government is to protect the interests of the American People. After decades of open borders and rampant abuses of immigration law, the conflict between India and Pakistan poses a danger of spilling into the streets of our country. It is high time that the federal government recognizes that pluralism has failed and takes prompt action to contain the fallout from this conflict. America must protect the homeland of the historic American People, and that includes preventing a surge in foreign squabbles on our streets.

As such, the New York Young Republican Club calls for the immediate repatriation of Indian H-1B visa holders to fight against Pakistani terror and aggression. The Reverse H-1B Visa Program would accomplish two significant policy objectives. First, it would mitigate the damage that the international labor market has inflicted on the American worker. More importantly, however, it would reverse the trend of unchecked migration that threatens to make every foreign conflict an American problem. The American People have enough issues at home; the fight over Kashmir must not be one of them.
