Come join the New York Young Republican Club as we run/walk in support of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation on September 25, in honor of the heroes who selflessly gave their lives 21 years ago on September 11.
The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk in New York City is held each year on the last Sunday of September. What began with 1,500 people in 2002 is now one of the top 5K runs in the United States.
The Tunnel to Towers 5K symbolizes Stephen Siller’s final footsteps from the foot of the Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. It pays homage to the 343 FDNY firefighters, law enforcement officers, and thousands of civilians who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
Author and family friend Jay Price wrote: “Every momentous event, even a tragedy, has its symbolic figures. September 11 was no different; it had a few more. Rudy Giuliani, Father Mychal Judge, the four guys on United Flight 93 … a hundred more … a thousand. None bigger than Stephen Siller, whose stature only grows with time as New Yorkers and people from around the world follow his footsteps.”
Proceeds from the event support the Tunnel to Towers Foundation programming, which includes supporting first responders and catastrophically injured service members.
