The New York Young Republican Club joined Heritage Action, American Principles Project, ACT for America, the Bull Moose Project in sending a letter to Sen. Durbin and Sen. Klobuchar in support of passing the America Act. As stated in the letter, “The AMERICA Act would prohibit large dominant advertising companies, like Google and Meta, from owning more than one part of the digital ad ecosystem. It would also require that advertising companies engage with customers in a fair and transparent fashion, as opposed to serving their supercompetitive profit interests.”
Passing this legislation is crucial to reigning in Big Tech. The letter continues, “While the Department of Justice, as well as private plaintiffs, have brought lawsuits against Big Tech companies for their monopolization in digital ad markets, those promise to be years-long processes with no guarantee that the outcome will serve competition. The AMERICA Act is a truly bipartisan solution that would stop bad actors in these important digital markets and restore competition to today’s digital advertising space. For these reasons, we request urgent action in passing the AMERICA Act.”
