Event Description:
Interested in keeping your family and yourself safe in NYC? It may seem impossible given the current state of affairs we find ourselves in right now caused by this country’s and this state’s failed leadership. From countless unvetted, illegal, military-aged male immigrants flooding our country unaccompanied by women or children, to the threat of World War III, to New York’s insistence on stripping our Second Amendment rights and ability to defend ourselves; now more than ever you need to start preparing to protect yourself, your family, and your home from what was once the unimaginable.

If the idea of being unprepared or unable to defend yourself and protect your family concerns you, then this is the event for you. Spend the evening with your fellow New York Young Republicans as active-duty, police officer Dave Herman helps alleviate your fears. Dave, founder of Five Elements Tactical Training, will provide an overview of some of the best ways to prepare for an array of emergencies, from the most common 911 emergencies, to some all out SHTF scenarios. Dave will cover some ways to train and to prepare to defend yourself, your family and your home, which will include explaining the process of applying for a Concealed Carry pistol license in New York.

Additionally, he will discuss various topics which span from emergency/disaster preparedness, to urban/wilderness survival skills and training. Part of every lesson and presentation, is the concept of Situational Awareness, and mindfulness. There will be time for some Q&A on how to protect your home from danger, how to create your go-bag / bug-out bag, and what to do to prepare for the worst.

Dave Herman is an active-duty police officer, FBI / NRA / NYS-DCJS certified firearms instructor, defensive tactics instructor, and active shooter response instructor. He has been studying full contact martial arts for over 40 years and has owned a full-time martial arts school since 1998. Dave has a B.A. in education and was formerly a school teacher. He is a passionate and enthusiastic, yet patient and thorough teacher. Dave Herman founded Five Elements Tactical Training in 2017 after graduating from the world-renowned FBI Firearms Instructor School.
