O’Keefe’s investigations have led directly to the passage of new legislation, federal and state investigations, congressional inquiries, the de-funding of taxpayer-funded groups. O’Keefe’s series of voter fraud exposés inspired several states to reform their election laws, forced resignations in Washington, and pushed FBI and Department of Justice officials to defend themselves before federal lawmakers.
Congressman Matt Gaetz is an American lawyer and politician serving as the U.S. representative for Florida’s 1st congressional district since 2017. A member of the Republican Party, his district covers a large portion of the western Florida Panhandle, including Pensacola, Destin, Navarre and his hometown of Fort Walton Beach. Prior to serving in Congress, Gaetz was a member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing the state’s 4th district, which includes most of Okaloosa County, from 2010 to 2016. Gaetz, a Florida native, grew up in the house that was used in the film, “The Truman Show”, featuring actor Jim Carrey. From Florida to D.C., Gaetz has lived up to his reputation as an outspoken conservative firebrand. He has been a prominent voice for uncovering corruption within the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Gaetz is passionate about making sure government is accountable, transparent, and honest. Gaetz is proud to be a part of the historic passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in the 115th Congress — which provided tax relief for workers, families, job creators, and helped revitalize our nation’s economy. Gaetz’ first bill that successfully passed through the House was H.R. 2370, the Escambia County Land Conveyance Act, giving leaseholders in Santa Rosa Island the option to acquire fee simple titles to their property. The bill also stipulates that the non-federal areas dedicated for conservation, preservation, public access, and parking will all be preserved permanently.
