The New York Young Republican Club is proud to endorse Judge Remy Smith for Richmond County Civil Court Judge in the First Municipal District and John Shea for North Shore of Staten Island on the New York City Council.
Unlike others in the political field, John Shea is not a career do-nothing politician. As a former NYPD officer and FDNY firefighter of more than two decades, John knows that New Yorkers risk their lives every single day and that public safety and crime are the highest concern. Unlike Zohran Mamdani and other Democrats in the city, John will work with law enforcement officials throughout Staten Island to make sure that violent offenders stay off the streets and law-abiding citizens are able to enjoy peace and prosperity.
In addition to John Shea, the NYYRC is proud to endorse Remy Smith. Judge Remy has a long history of judicial training that has uniquely prepared her for a position on the Civil Court. As a graduate of Brooklyn Law School, she has worked with a variety of private law firms throughout the city and has handled a wide range of important issues and cases. In 2011 she became a court attorney under Supreme Court Justice Marina Mundy and then went on to honorably serve on the New York Housing Court in 2018. For her impeccable service, she was re-appointed in 2023 and has continued to work in both the Brooklyn and Staten Island housing courts. Her judicial knowledge, common sense, and experience puts her leagues ahead of anyone who could dare to try to challenge her campaign. The NYYRC is proud to endorse her in her upcoming election bid
For all these reasons, the New York Young Republican club is very happy to endorse both John Shea and Judge Remy Smith and support them in their upcoming election bids. We urge all Republicans and fellow patriots in Staten Island and beyond to support Judge Smith and John Shea in the upcoming Republican primaries and in the general election. There are no other candidates who are more qualified and ready to serve in their respective positions than Judge Smith and John Shea.
These races are not only winnable but extremely important for the future prosperity of this great city. At a time of chaos and with radicals like Zohran Mamdani looking to take control of the levers of government, this city needs strong defenders of common sense who believe in hardwork, public service, and the MAGA agenda which Donald Trump was elected on in 2024.
