The New York Young Republican Club is proud to endorse Inna Vernikov for New York City Council, District 48. Councilwoman Vernikov represents a historic district that is diverse, with a lot of middle and working-class New Yorkers, and represents the movement that’s gaining all across America. President Donald Trump has continued to make gains in South Brooklyn throughout the last decade. Unlike the current Council Minority Leader and her opponent in the Republican primary, Councilwoman Vernikov has endorsed President Trump each time out and got special notice from President Trump himself at our 2023 gala as she was invited up on stage in a viral moment for the record books.
From Brighton Beach to Midwood, Councilwoman Vernikov has fearlessly defended her constituents against rising antisemitism and the consequences of leftist soft on crime policies that endanger New Yorkers. Councilwoman Vernikov was the lead sponsor in a resolution that passed the City Council recognizing April 29th as End Jew Hatred day. She has also worked tirelessly to bring accountability and consequences to the systematic antisemitism at CUNY, the 4th largest public university system in the country, and in 2022 cut off CUNY from her Council discretionary funding. A lifelong disruptor, Councilwoman Vernikov won her seat in a landslide victory and has won by more each time out. The constituent services carried out by Councilwoman Vernikov and her office consistently rank among the best in the city. She is laser focused on improving the quality of life for her constituents and delivering on the needs of the district.
Councilwoman Vernikov is a vocal backer of President Donald J. Trump’s immigration policies. As a former immigration attorney, Inna Vernikov has seen first hand how broken our immigration system is. The Councilwoman has fought New York City’s sanctuary status since gaining office and has called attention to the violence, lawlessness, and municipal spending that unchecked immigration brings. Last year, Vernikov co-sponsored a bill that would stop migrants from using daycares and other community children’s centers as free residence.
Councilwoman Vernikov knows the importance of never backing down and always standing up for our fundamental rights. Like her primary opponent, Ari Kagan, who refused to be a team player by competing in two other districts that are plausible pickups, Inna Vernikov was born in the former Soviet Union. Unlike her opponent, she has never been a communist or political opportunist.
She understands firsthand the dangers of government overreach and socialist policies. Councilwoman Vernikov is a staunch supporter of meritocracy, the rule of law and a relentless defender of the freedoms that make America great and New York safe. The New York Young Republican Club is proud to endorse Inna Vernikov for New York City Council, District 48. We urge all patriots living in southern Brooklyn, including Brighton Beach, Homecrest, Manhattan Beach, parts of Midwood, and Sheepshead Bay, to vote in the upcoming Republican primary and general election to support Councilwoman Inna Vernikov’s Re-Election. Keep District 48 in the hands of a real Republican!
