NYYRC Urges New York’s GOP Congressional Delegation to Reject the DIGNIDAD Act

By April 15, 2026No Comments

The New York Young Republican Club is urging New York’s Republican delegates to the House of Representatives to oppose, reject, and organize against H.R. 4393, the DIGNIDAD (Dignity) Act of 2025. Co-sponsored by 20 Democrats and 20 Republicans, including Rep. Mike Lawler (NY-17), this legislation would give legal status and working rights to up to 45 million Americans who are in our country illegally. Passing this legislation would be an unprecedented betrayal of Republican voters.

As the oldest and largest Young Republican Club in the United States, and as the first organization in America to endorse President Donald J. Trump’s 2024 bid for reelection, we state unequivocally that MAGA Republicans, Young Republicans, and the Republican electorate in general, forcefully opposes mass amnesty. In 2024, the first item on the Republican Platform was to “Seal the border, and stop the migrant invasion.” If this wasn’t sufficiently clear, item two was “carry out the largest deportation operation in American history.”

While we understand the urge to broaden our Party’s political base, we cannot sacrifice our own values, identity, and country to achieve this end. Tens of millions of conservatives, both Republicans and Independents, are more inspired by a Republican Party that is fighting for them than by the 20 GOP co-sponsors of the Amnesty Act, who would abandon their interests, platform, and values.

The New York Young Republican Club calls on New York’s Republican elected officials in the House of Representatives to represent the interests of their constituents by rejecting this proposed legislation.
