Freedom for Staten Island!

By February 20, 2026No Comments

Though four of New York City’s five boroughs suffer under Marxist rule, a lone island south of Manhattan has at least partly resisted the encroachment of tyranny. Unable to win elections in Staten Island fairly, New York Democrats are not allowing the Constitution or equality before the law to impede their sordid quest for power. Yesterday, a New York appellate court approved a new Democrat-drawn voting map, which includes parts of Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan in Staten Island’s current voting district. The consequences of this move are stark: Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11) could lose her seat in Congress, and Staten Island would be represented federally by Democrats. The last hope for Staten Island Republicans and for Rep. Malliotakis lies with the U.S. Supreme Court. If they fail to intervene, Staten Island will fall.

Fortunately for Republicans, the Constitution is on our side. Democrats are open about their intentions: they argue that the current voting map “is unlawfully diluting the votes of Black and Latino voters” in Staten Island. In other words, Staten Island is simply “too white,” and this is somehow illegal under a twisted interpretation of 52 U.S. Code § 10301. After the Republican Party abolished slavery (despite a Democrat-led insurrection), the Republican Congress proposed the 14th Amendment, which forbid denying Americans rights on the basis of race (again over Democrat objections). Contrary to the regressive stance of modern “anti-racists,” the 14th Amendment protects the inalienable rights of all Americans, even white Americans, and forbids New York Democrats from diluting their votes.

The New York Young Republican Club calls on the U.S. Supreme Court to issue immediate injunctive relief and halt the gerrymander of Staten Island. As Solicitor General John Sauer noted in the Trump Administration’s amicus curiae brief, “in a democracy, candidates preferred by a minority of voters usually lose.” Staten Island, which is the last, best hope of New York Republicans, will fall under the rule of Democrat race communism if the Supreme Court does not immediately intervene. Staten Island deserves to choose its own elected representatives, and their choice is Rep. Nicole Malliotakis. Failed Governor Kathy Hochul and her comrades must deal with it.

A City where 36 percent of Republicans voted for Trump in 2024 deserves to have a Republican seat. The NYYRC wishes our friends in Staten Island, along with Rep. Malliotakis, success before the Supreme Court. It is time for the Court to end this racial gerrymandering circus once and for all. Freedom for Staten Island!
