The Fall of Letitia James is in Full Swing

The New York Young Republican Club welcomes another step our Nation took on the path toward rule of law, freedom, and decency yesterday in New York. The New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, rightfully invalidated the half-billion dollar penalty imposed by our communist state government on President Donald J. Trump in a civil lawsuit brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James. Anyone with a cursory understanding of real estate understood from the beginning that Mar-A-Lago — a property that spans the entire width of Palm Beach Island, is surrounded with some of the most valuable real estate in the world, and is a place that most imagine paradise to be — is not worth anything as low as a paltry $18 million. For the supposed fault of valuing it at a higher price (market-appropriate), President Trump was fined $464 million dollars. Yesterday’s ruling was an important first step to reversing this injustice and further action by Edward “Eagle Ed” Martin at the Department of Justice may bring reparations via other means.

The real motive behind the unjust prosecution of President Trump was not protecting Deutsche Bank or “market hygiene.” Deutsche Bank’s loan was repaid in full, and they desired to do more business with President Trump following the transaction, not less. The real motive was not even hurting the President and his family, although feeding the Left’s insatiable cruelty and sadism was likely a massive bonus. The true impetus for this suit was to deprive President Trump of the financial resources, time, political support, and will to take back the White House. Equally important, the Left wanted to deter anyone from challenging its power in a meaningful way. It was the same motive behind the prosecutions of Roger Stone, Rudy Giuliani, the January 6th Patriots, those who pray peacefully at abortion mills, and countless other Patriots. It is the reason why there are no prosecutions of those like Nikki Haley or Mitt Romney, who serve the uniparty with fervent loyalty.

However, we condemn in the strongest terms the incomplete nature of this victory. The Court unfortunately upheld President Trump’s fraud liability and non-financial penalties, including those that restrict his ability to conduct business and obtain financing in New York. While opinions between the Court’s five judges differed, the Court simply characterized the penalty as “excessive” and in violation of the Eighth Amendment of the United States Constitution. What violated the Eighth Amendment, and 238 years of Constitutional norms, was the cruel and unusual punishment inflicted on President Trump for the crimes of putting America First; insisting on border security; opposing the sexualization, mutilation, and sterilization of young children by the demonic Left and avaricious healthcare providers; and advocating for other policies deemed offensive by communists.

A just verdict would have invalidated the finding of civil liability and all associated penalties and would have included an apology to President Donald J. Trump. Fortunately, although the New York courts refused to correct this wrong, justice may soon be found on other terms. For Letitia James, who brought this suit, is in fact under investigation by the Department of Justice for alleged mortgage fraud of her own. To obtain favorable loan terms, she claimed primary residence in a Norfolk, Virginia – which would have vacated her public office under New York’s Public Officers Law § 30(1)(d). Earlier this week, Edward “Eagle Ed” Martin, Director of the Weaponization Working Group at the DOJ, recommended that James would, “best serve the ‘good of the state and nation’ by resigning from office.” James should resign immediately and begin preparing for her day in court.

We deeply regret that Letitia James, Judge Arthur Engoron, Alvin Bragg, Fani Willis, Jack Smith and all those who attempted to deny the right of Americans to vote for President Donald J. Trump through lawfare, have not faced justice – yet. Despite blatant evidence of abuse of power, including bragging about the possibility of seizing President Trump’s most iconic buildings and achievements, the communists who persecuted our President will pay no penalty for the money, time, and energy they cost him during the campaign. It was only through President Trump’s unmatched grit, motivation, and charisma that he was able to survive lawfare by winning the Presidency of the United States. Posterity should never forget how close we came to despotism, and America must remain vigilant in dismantling the still powerful forces of communism in our Nation.
