Los Angeles — Kicking Off the Reforging of America

By June 8, 2025No Comments

Foreign nationals have taken over the city of Los Angeles, and President Donald J. Trump must quickly use all available resources to end the violence. Last night, while U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement was carrying out a routine roundup of illegals, violent left-wing anarchists viciously attacked their convoy. With Mexican flags streaking through the wind, illegals and their antifa comrades raged through the streets of LA, stoning ICE agents, looting businesses, and burning vehicles. To restore order to the city, President Trump swiftly ordered 2,000 California National Guard troops to the city, drawing immediate condemnation from California Gov. Gavin “Newscum” Newsom.

How can the scenes in LA last night be described as anything less than invasion and insurrection? When foreign nationals waving foreign flags attack federal agents of the U.S. government, that constitutes an invasion. Do words have meaning anymore? When Newsom refused to approve a National Guard deployment, was he not aiding and abetting an insurrection? Leftists weaponized this exact allegation, false though it was, against President Trump in 2021. The law is clear, however, about presidential authority in the event of an “invasion or predatory incursion.” The Alien Enemies Act gives President Trump carte blanche to ensure that “alien enemies” are “apprehended, restrained, secured, and removed.”

More tools are available, as well, and the New York Young Republican Club recommends the use of every constitutional authority to restore order to LA. The Insurrection Act allows the President to use federal troops “as he considers necessary” to suppress “any insurrection [or] domestic violence” that interferes with the public order. Article 1, Section 9, of the Constitution approves the suspension of habeas corpus “when in cases of rebellion or invasion the public safety may require it.” As we noted in a statement weeks ago, the New York Young Republican Club recommends President Trump suspend habeas corpus to support remigration and mass deportations. Foreign invaders who attack federal agents do not deserve due process.

Reforging America may require action in Mexico, as well. Today is the 171st anniversary of the Treaty of Mesilla, which took effect on June 8, 1854. Known popularly as the Gadsden Purchase, it defined the final borders between Mexico and the United States. Few know, however, that the treaty grants the United States the right to unilaterally intervene “when it may feel sanctioned and warranted by the public or international law.” Mexico has been in de facto violation of this treaty for years. Open borders and uncontrolled migration are not sanctioned by the laws of nations. If Mexico will not fulfill its treaty obligations, the United States must consider all available options, including but not limited to that of a unilateral intervention on Mexican soil.

Peace will not return to Southern California until the federal government uses overwhelming force to bring this invasion to heel. The time to start is now.
