The New York Young Republican Club is proud to announce that Maud Maron has successfully qualified for the ballot in the Manhattan District Attorney race. This marks the first time since 2009 that a Republican candidate has qualified for the Manhattan DA ballot, which is a victory for both the Club and the Republican Party. Maron stands firmly athwart Alvin Bragg’s mockery of justice, where violent criminals were allowed to terrorize law-abiding New Yorkers, while Bragg violated 250 years of democratic norms in a witch hunt against President Donald J. Trump. Maron will stand up for the needs of everyday New Yorkers and prioritize the impartial justice that will make New York safe again.
Upon endorsing her on February 21, the New York Young Republican Club threw its full weight behind Maud Maron’s candidacy. After an initial March 12 social, Campaigns Committee Chairman Mario Nicoletto organized two volunteer deployments to secure Maron’s slot on the ballot. For two consecutive weekends, Club volunteers canvassed the streets of Manhattan and worked the phone lines to gather signatures and generate publicity around her campaign. Ultimately, the Club Campaigns Committee gathered a majority of the signatures Maron needed to qualify for the ballot.
“We don’t play it safe—we make history,” New York Young Republican Club President Stefano Forte said. “No one has gotten a Republican on the ballot in Manhattan with pre-COVID rules since 2009, but we just did. Our Club delivers when others fail. We’re all in for Maud—and Alvin Bragg is in for the fight of his life.”
During her 20-year career as a public defender and as a trial Attorney at the Legal Aid Society, Maud Maron learned to put the justice needs of real New Yorkers ahead of the whims of billionaires and special interest groups. In office, she pledges to repeal the legacy of failed DA Alvin Bragg, including his infamous “Day One Memo,” which downgraded 60% of major felonies to misdemeanors. Maud Maron will restore public faith in New York City’s justice system, prosecute and jail dangerous criminals, and, most of all, make life safe again for the people of Manhattan.
