Eristoff's New Job

The New York Republican Club, Inc. was addressed by three Republican leaders on January 17th at the Metropolitan Republican Club at their first general meeting of the new year: Andrew Eristoff, newly elected New York Republican County Chair; John Ravitz, Assemblyman and candidate for State Senate; and John Faso, Minority Leader of the Assembly and candidate for New York State comptroller.

Andrew Eristoff, 37, whose most recent post was as Finance Commissioner for the Giuliani administration, addressed the club only moments after being elected New York County Republican Chair. He told an audience of over 30 young professionals that one of his major goals is to deliver Governor Pataki 100,000 voters from New York City for his reelection.

Eristoff explained that he "wants to make every effort to reach out to every constituency, especially the groups which may have been hostile previously."

Club President Jason Weingartner replied "it is more important now than ever that Republicans are elected to ensure the future of this great city. With the base that Senator Goodman has built, Chairman Eristoff can effectively lead this growing group of newer Republicans while still cultivating the backbone of the party." Weingartner continued, "I am really excited to work with him on the coming elections and I'm honored that his first official act as chairman was to address our club."

Assemblyman John Faso pointed out the necessity of strengthening the Republican Party in New York City and Assemblyman John Ravitz stressed the importance of grass roots support from individuals and groups like the New York Young Republican Club in his race for State Senate in a special election on February 12th for the 73rd Assembly District.
The New York Young Republican Club, Inc. is a not-for-profit political organization that exists to bring Republicans, aged 18-40, together to discuss the Republican Party platform and aid the Republican Party in the education of the public about the Republican agenda and the promotion of Republican candidates for office.
