THE NEW YORK YOUNG REPUBLICAN CLUB, INC. RESPONDS TO SEN. CLINTON'S COMMENTS REGARDING CONGRESS, WHITE HOUSE
New York, NY - The New York Young Republican Club, Inc (NYYRC) finds Senator Clinton's comments, made yesterday, regarding the United States House of Representatives and the Bush Administration to be inaccurate and hypocritical.
In a speech yesterday, Sen. Clinton suggested that the U.S. House "has been run like a plantation" and "has been run in a way so that nobody with a contrary view has had a chance to present legislation, to make an argument, to be heard." Clinton also stated, "We have a culture of corruption, we have cronyism, we have incompetence," she said. "I predict to you that this administration will go down in history as one of the worst that has ever governed our country."
NYYRC President Dennis Cariello commented "These are quite hypocritical accusations coming from Senator Clinton. Let's not forget that the Clinton White House brought us Whitewater, Travelgate, Filegate and Monica Lewinsky. Furthermore, the comparison to a plantation is just downright offensive."
President Cariello continued, "I believe that President Bush will be remembered positively for the strength he exhibited after the events of September 11th, for his response to terrorism, as well as for his domestic agenda." He also added, "Many pundits made the same predictions about the Reagan Administration-yet less than 20 years after Reagan left office, popular opinion on his legacy has already turned in his favor."
The New York Young Republican Club, Inc., is a not-for-profit political organization that exists to bring Republicans aged 18-40 together to discuss the Republican Party platform and aid the Republican Party in the education of the public about the Republican agenda and the promotion of Republican candidates for office.
