Honest Reporting, Someone?
Posted by: | CommentsIt’s no secret that the mainstream media hate the Tea Party. After ignoring them for months, the MSM decided to depict the partiers as country rubes. Recent polls have exploded this line of attack, so the MSM has decided to take up a new trope – that they’re very dangerous. It is this alleged aspect of the Tea Party the Christian Science Monitor reports on this morning: In towns large and small on Thursday, which is tax day, tea partyers are planning to march against big government... Posted by: | CommentsI received this campaign update from my friend Ryan Brumberg, who is running in New York’s 14th Congressional District. Ryan is an excellent candidate who would bring responsibility and fiscal sobriety to Washington during a time when it is most needed! Please see the end of the post for information on how to volunteer and donate to Ryan’s campaign. Dear Friends, I write to you to let you know as of last Friday, April 9th, 2010, I have resigned from McKinsey & Company to run for the U.S.... Read More→
Note to Obama: Hire a Propaganda Czar
Posted by: | CommentsWe’re on the road to recovery, or are we? That depends on who you ask. Our tax-cheat Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geither is confident not only that we’re recovering, but that we’ve done it on the cheap. As he recaps in his Washington Post editorial: America is close to turning the page on this economic crisis. While far too many Americans are still out of work and face deep economic hardship, we have now reported three quarters of positive growth and the beginnings... Read More→
“Jobless claims soar”
Posted by: | CommentsFrom CNN: The number of Americans filing for unemployment insurance for the first time jumped last week, according to government data released Thursday. There were 460,000 initial jobless claims filed in the week ended April 3, up 18,000 from an upwardly revised 442,000 the previous week, according to the Labor Department’s weekly report. Three words: Healthcare reform bill. Employers know more taxes are coming, and they are not willing to take on the additional payroll responsibility... Read More→
Gov’t Reports 162,000 Jobs Added in March
Posted by: | CommentsFrom MarketWatch: Boosted by hiring for the Census and a rebound from bad weather, the U.S. economy created 162,000 jobs in March, the largest seasonally adjusted increase in nonfarm payrolls in three years, the Labor Department reported Friday. Later, the story quotes Mizuho Securities economist Steve Ricchiuto and RBC Capital Markets economist Tom Porcelli: The March report “doesn’t tell you much about sustainability,” said Steven Ricchiuto, chief economist for Mizuho Securities... This Nonsense about Weather
Posted by: | CommentsNo, not “global warming” err, “global climate change.” I’m talking about the apologetic media intent on excusing Obama & Co. from creating a 20% underemployment rate. The recent hottest excuse is that this winter’s inclement weather has chilled our job recovery. Recent ADP data for March revealed that the private sector shed 23,000 jobs in March, according to the ADP employment report released Wednesday. The report comes two days before the Labor Department... Read More→
How to “Reduce” Unemployment
Posted by: | CommentsAnyone who is convinced we’re on the road to economic recovery still has to grapple with a staggeringly high underemployment rate of ~20%. It would be kind to call the politicians who say the we’re in a recovery merely misguided… they’re either delusional or intentionally misleading their constitutents. It’s the un and underemployed Americans who remind them daily of their impotence in economic remedying. Perhaps to counter this, perhaps just to further increase... Read More→
Spectacular Impertinence
Posted by: | CommentsOne of America’s most destructive legislators is working to enact new banking legislation. Barney Frank (D-MA) is the Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, and has a long, documented history in contributing mightily to the nation’s recent economic collapse. He is otherwise known for sounding like Daffy Duck and acting like Goofy. This incredibly arrogant, stupid, and partisan little man has the unbelievable gumption to suggest that “I believe we will get a very good... Read More→
