Why Campaigning in NYC Will Help Us Take Back Congress

New York City…the city known for the Yankees, great pizza, and liberalism.  Yes…conservatism tends to me as unpopular as crowded subway in the summer.  But this year…as famous Greenwich Village performer Bob Dylan once said…”The Times They Are A Changin.”  Being out on the streets campaigning, you can tell that New Yorkers are looking for something different than the same old liberal politicians that are currently installed in Albany and Washington.  They are open to Republicans on the ballot this year…but they will vote the same old same old…if we don’t give them a reason to “Fill in the Dots” (new voting system…no more lever) for the GOP.  It is our job as activists to encourage those on the fence to take the leap and show them that we have faith in this year’s crop of Republicans.  We all believe that Republicans, if they were elected to office, would make a positive difference for the residents of New York City and New York State.   We can no longer afford taxes on everything from soda to ipods to anything else that Dems can get their hands on.  Middle class families around New York City are sick and tired with the status quo and want to vote for us.  But they want to see that we can win.

This is why we got to work like hell for the next month to get our conservative, small government message out to as many New York City voters as we can.  People are receptive to our message and happy to have a choice of something different this year.  In order to get our message out, each New York City campaign needs volunteers.  An hour, a day, a week, or whatever you want to give will help us win seats in this city and statewide.  Especially statewide.  New York City will be a challenging but doable.  However, any volunteer work you do in this city will help statewide races immensely.  Because NYC is known as a very liberal city, not many statewide candidates will spend a lot of time campaigning here.  They will need help from activists like us in order to increase votes for the GOP within Manhattan and the other 4 boroughs.  Let’s say our hard work increases GOP votes citywide by 10%.

Then we can very well be the difference in making Carl Paladino the next Governor… Harry Wilson the next comptroller and Dan Donovan the next Attorney General.    Paladino is within 6 points of Cuomo according to the latest Quinnipiac poll and now will receive support from most Rick Lazio supporters, since he has stepped down as a candidate on the Conservative line.  Still not convinced that we could be the difference in NYC?

How about we look at the current polls in other states.  Right now the U.S. Senate, according to Real Clear Politics, has the Democrats winning 50 seats and the Republicans winning 46 seats…with 4 tossup seats.  Of those 4 seats…Ken Buck (R) is defeating incumbent Michael Bennet (D) by 5 points for the Colorado Senate seat according to CNN/Time Opinion Research poll.  Also…Mark Kirk (R) is leading Alexi Giannoulias (D) by 3 points according to the latest Rasmussen poll.  So that makes it 50-48 Democrats in the Senate.  Also…in Nevada, Senate Majority leader Harry Reid and Sharon Angle are tied in the latest Las Vegas Review Journal/ Mason-Dixon poll.  So, if Sharon Angle ekes out that race, then its 50-49 in the Senate.   The last tossup seat is in West Virginia, show John Raese (R) defeating Joe Manchin (D) by 3 points in the latest Public Policy Polling poll.  So, if Raese wins that race…the Senate is 5o-50.  Since the Democrats control the Executive Branch, Vice President Joe Biden becomes the tie breaker vote and gives control of the Senate to the Democrats.

Real Clear Politics has the New York Senate seat leaning towards  incumbent Kirsten Gillibrand.  However, if Joe DioGuardi pulls off the upset…the GOP wins the Senate.  If we win the House (as expected…but TAKE NOTHING FOR GRANTED!) and the Senate…then we will have control of Congress and the purse strings of government.  President Obama will HAVE TO WORK WITH REPUBLICANS…to get anything done.  This will curb his radicalism and allow the country to return to good, sound government policies.  New York City could be the difference in us winning the Senate or not.  So, anyone who tells you that you live in New York City and it doesn’t matter if you volunteer and vote…DON’T KNOW ANYTHING.   If you follow my plea and help out a local campaign…you will help the GOP take back Congress.  It doesn’t matter what campaign you work for in New York State…just get out and volunteer.  If you put a few days of your life into a campaign, then WE WILL TAKE BACK CONGRESS and you will have TAKEN BACK YOUR COUNTRY!!!

Now is the time the act.  This is our time to shine New York City.  We have built the worlds tallest buildings and its greatest financial institutions.  We can win this election as well for the GOP.  Nothing is impossible.  No one thought Scott Brown could win the “Ted Kennedy seat” and he won it by five points.  2010 is the year for the GOP to take back the Northeast and show we are viable party in every county in this country. Especially New York County.  I hope to see you out volunteering and helping the GOP win a big election this year.

NOW LETS GO OUT AND WIN THIS THING!!!!  Help a New York City candidate below by sending them a check or giving them your time.

  • Damuto helped Maloney to cut out RINO Green by giving his other pal Manton’s bad areas to her. Any GOP from Manhattan only shifts the entire state GOP leftwards and should not be tolerated.
