Faso-Spitzer debate – Hevesi
Posted by: | CommentsNear the end of Tuesday’s debate, State Comptroller Alan Hevesi’s name came up. Spitzer thinks that Hevesi is an honest, able accountant who ably serves in this position. Of course, Spitzer’s definition of honest and able differs from John Faso’s, and pretty much everyone else’s for that matter. To get a little background on Mr. Hevesi, take a look at this note from J. Christopher Callaghan, Republican candidate for state comptroller. And visit Callaghan’s Web... Read More→
Faso-Spitzer debate – No love lost there
Posted by: | CommentsJohn Faso and Eliot Spitzer finally squared off Tuesday night in the first (hopefully not the last) debate of the NYS Governor’s race. They traded some pretty good barbs, and Eliot performed much as expected: snide comments and asides, and lots of pie-in-the-sky ideas with no realistic plan to implement them. Well, maybe that’s not completely fair. He can enact his agenda, provided he taxes us into the ground. He says he won’t, but if you believe that, then I can’t do nothin’... Read More→

Remembering September 11th
Posted by: | CommentsAs we recall where we were five years ago today, what we did, and the feelings that overcame us – sorrow, fear, anger – let’s all be sure that we take a moment and remember those who were lost. It helps me to think about not how they died, but how they lived. And it also helps me to remember why we fight now. Support the troops.Support those courageous enough to make the decisions that have to be made so that we may be safer. And most importantly, support each other. Best wishes, Rick... Read More→

Up, Up, and Away
Posted by: | CommentsThe Shuttle Discovery goes back into space today…and North Korea sends up six rickety rockets to flex their gelatinous muscles. Kim Jung Il is determined to join the small, but potent, club of countries with intercontinental ballistic missiles. First, he has to build them to last longer than a few minutes in flight. But make no mistake, this nutcase is determined to cause problems. We should be just as determined to stop him. If there is anyone who doesn’t think we should be spending... Read More→
We’ll fly another day
Posted by: | CommentsSo the shuttle didn’t go up Saturday. At least it could be blamed on the weather and not the “can’t do” spirit that seems to plague NASA these days. There is a lot of pressure to make this mission a success for the aging shuttle program, but as usual the media is trumping it up to be the death knell for America’s future in space if it should fail. We’ve seen failure in space before, kids. Painful as it was, we have learned from our mistakes and soldiered on. It... Read More→
