President Obama’s hypocrisy
Posted by: | CommentsA terrific example of Obama’s willingness to sanctimoniously school us on how to be post-partisan, and then violate his own principles was on display last week. At the same time that the President demagogued Paul Ryan’s fiscal plan by alluding to how it’s going to kill Granny, a video was played from the speech President Obama made to the Republican conference in 2010 during the health care debate. In it, Obama pronounces the importance of not demagoguing an opponent’s position... Read More→
Obama pulling a John Kerry on Libya
Posted by: | CommentsSo far the establishment of a No Fly Zone over Libya has been a positive development, beating back wacky Khaddafy and his gang of murderers. This fight was the right thing to do, as the American tradition and creed requires us to stand up against tyranny in any part of the world when we can. This minimal commitment with little risk of American casualties can help to bring about a democratic future in a part of the world that once could only dream of such an occurrence. Though President Obama is pining... Read More→
Last In First Out
Posted by: | CommentsOne of the most important issues in reforming our schools in New York is the end of Last In, First Out. The push by Senate Republicans and Mayor Bloomberg to do away with this terrible policy is the right thing to do. Governor Cuomo understandably has many issues to deal with in terms of the unions, and does not want to needlessly antagonize them. However, his hesitance to support the GOP Senate bill could have an incredibly damaging effect on the children of New York City. One of the few positive things... Read More→
Andrew Cuomo – the country’s best Democrat?
Posted by: | CommentsLet me preface this by saying that I am a proud and registered Republican and have been so for many years. I am also not accustomed to writing or saying many good things about the politics of the Democratic Party. But I think that we must give credit when credit is due – and that (for now) goes to Gov. Andrew Cuomo. From the looks of the polls, I am not the only Republican in NY State who feels this way. In the poll just released this week a strong majority of Republicans support him, as well... Congratulations to the Egyptian people
Posted by: | CommentsThere is no doubt that it is reasonable to be concerned about the future of Egypt. But as a believer in the universal right of the individual to take part in choosing their own government, I am happy for those Egyptians who fought to remove the tyrant who has ruled them for so long. Let us hope that this leads to free and fair elections, which do not result in another dictator or Islamic fundamentalist coming to power. As the GOP is the Party of Lincoln, I hope every Republican would ultimately support... Read More→
Goodbye, Mr. Olbermann, and good riddance
Posted by: | CommentsThere are few times that I will take an opportunity to celebrate the temporary disappearance of a particular talkinghead, but Keith Olbermann is an exception. Though I was lucky enough to see him on television on few occasions, his shows are difficult to forget. Bordering on slander and filled with uncorroborated accusations against Republicans and conservatives, it was a good example of the lengths that the far left will go to win over the public. In the end, he served very little except to rile... Read More→
Charles Krauthammer’s response to liberal politicization of Rep. Giffords’s shooting
Posted by: | CommentsThis is an excellent article written by Charles Krauthammer on this issue. Of note, the writer is also a medical doctor. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2011/01/11/AR2011011106068.html?hpid=topnews Read More →
