Palin the Party’s Powerbase?

Posted by: Lynn Krogh | Comments (2)

Steve Kornacki over at the NY Observer put together a piece on Governor Palin and her future as a potential Presidential candidate in 2012. It’s an interesting look at the “divide” amongst Republicans, (he quotes the lastest Rasmussen poll stating that Republicans prefer a conservative candidate, over a moderate one,) and that her popularity is still sky-high, (as demostrated by her recent attendance at the Alfalfa Dinner in DC). I guess I would rather pose the question, is it... Read More→

The 20th CD Race is heating up and Patterson hasn’t even called a date for the Special Election to take place (shocking!). In the meantime, folks are coming out of the woodwork to run. Click on the link from the Daily Politics, (above) for the latest and greatest from John Faso, a viable candidate for Congress. Give us your thoughts on your favorite and just think of this: We’ll be having a Special Election to fill our now-vacant Congressional Seat, but our new US Senator was just appointed…... Read More→

Looking to the Future…

Posted by: Lynn Krogh | Comments (0)

Was passed a link from the Commission that’s taking a hard look at the NYGOP (of which I’m a member). It’s Chris Faulkner’s blog.http://gopgrunt.com/ For those not aware, Chris Faulkner is known for his great grassroots initiatives, and GOTV operations. While I believe I’ve only met him once, I have certainly heard his name in many circles and am now following him on Twitter. (Follow the NYYRC on TWITTER: http://twitter.com/NYYRC) Check him out — The interviews... Read More→

If you are like us and had to spend the entire day keeping your head low or your headphones on… If you felt like the only outlet you had was to change your facebook status every five minutes to keep from yelling at your co-workers, (who were dancing with glee like it was Christmas morning)… If you are wondering when the miracles that hope and change are supposed to bring will actually occur… If you’re looking for a place to commiserate with fellow NYC YRs about the new administration... Read More→

Now They Want to Confess?

Posted by: Lynn Krogh | Comments (1)

So the brains behind the September 11th attacks, currently being held at Guantanamo Bay, finally want to confess to conspiracy charges. They announced this infront of the family members of the victims that perished in the attacks. There are also a couple co-conspirators that need phych evaluations prior to accepting the confessions… (A COUPLE?) I ask… WHY NOW??? Interestingly enough, Obama team considers changing interogation policies…http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/12/04/obama.torture/index.html  Read More →

Fellow YRs… Word on the street is Chairman Mondello is making former Councilman Andrew Eristoff (and former McCain Manhattan coordinator) the new Youth Outreach Coordinator for the NYGOP… Any thoughts? *Clarification-After speaking with Andrew directly, I’m happy to report that he has been asked to Chair a Committee to take a look at the entire State of the State GOP. From a personal point of view, I’m happy to hear it. Andrew has been a large supporter of the YRs and will... Read More→

Clinton as Secretary of State

Posted by: Lynn Krogh | Comments (3)

Roll Call’s reporting that Senator Clinton will be accepting President-Elect Obama’s offer to be his Secretary of State. This is certainly an interesting choice and one the media’s been fixated on for a week now. And one, as late as last night, I believed to be a big old media power play. Guess I owe Matt Hindin, Saul Farber and co. a few bucks. That said, how excited do you get to think that she’ll be leaving her post as NY’s junior Senator?!?! Who does the Governor... Read More→

Early Voting in SAXBY’s Favor?

Posted by: Lynn Krogh | Comments (0)

Last night at our meeting, you heard from Campaign Chairman Matt Hindin about Senator Saxby Chambliss’ campaign runoff. It’s looking like Saxby is doing pretty well… Check out what the Atlanta Journal Constitution is saying. It seems that 74.8% of early voters have been white, while only 22.3% have been African-American. This may not bode well for Senator Chambliss’ opponent, Atlanta Democrat Jim Martin. In comparison, African American turnout was 35% in the General Election.... Read More→
