Waterboy Goes to the UN
Posted by: | CommentsI just happened to glance over at my monitor to see Chavez addressing the UN. It was perfect timing because I turned up the volume just as he was describing how the UN still smelled like sulphur after Bush addressed the General Assembly yesterday, right before he called Bush “The Devil”. (Ah, but the bigger question would be, Does he wear Prada??) That’s classic. I couldn’t help but laugh and think of Kathy Bates in The Waterboy. Another gem: Apparently, we Americans want... Hey M.A.C.–Check out my lips!!
Posted by: | CommentsMy daily scroll through both The Corner and Drudge brought me to a link to the M.A.C. (Make-up Art Cosmetics) website. Having worked in the prestige cosmetics industry and with makeup artists, I can’t deny it’s a great product. And, let’s face it–survival in NYC would be very difficult if I let my personal political beliefs... Read More→
The Plight of the Migrants
Posted by: | CommentsIn today’s Wall Street Journal, the High Inquisitor of the Untied Nations (that’s not a typo), his Royal Highness Kofi Annan has a lovely little opinion piece defending the plight of the migrant worker. His poignant examples using references everyone can relate to, such as “the family in the classic Senegalese film, ‘Le Mandat’…” really helped to drive his message home. Who knew Senegal had a film industry, much less classic films? But, I digress…... Read More→
Ha Ha! They’re Still Not Fonda You, Jane
Posted by: | CommentsI love it. Georgia Democrat Senator Steen Miles wanted to honor Fonda her “charitable work” and the measure was defeated 38-1 yesterday. Turns out, Miles wasn’t even the 1 to cast the vote in favor… Does that make her For the resolution before she was Against it? heh…. Read More →
Look at Me!! I Need More Time in Front of the TV!
Posted by: | CommentsOkay, so we all expect Chuck Schumer to be out there yapping away in front of the cameras, sneaking legislation into completely unrelated bills (Bring back line item veto, bring back line item veto). But Pete King? What is he doing? In case you’re one of the many who are on the fence or are trying to decide what you really think about this whole Dubai Ports thing, think about this: “Conservative” Congressman, Pete King is not only in the middle of playing “Who’s the...
