The New York Young Republican Club, Inc. Attends GOP Chairman Forum; Extends Gratitude to All in Attendance

– Race for Chairman of the New York Republican State Committee Heats Up –

NEW YORK, NY – The New York Young Republican Club (NYYRC) would like to formally thank all those in attendance at the lively New York Republican County Committee (NYRCC) GOP Chairman Forum on September 1st .  The event served as a speaking platform for candidates Ed Cox and Henry Wojtaszek who are running to succeed Joe Mondello as Chairman of the New York Republican State Committee.  There was an impressive turnout of district leaders, state committee members, several club presidents from various affiliated organizations, and New York media.

“It was exciting to see the passion within both Cox and Wojtaszek, and I think whichever candidate wins will be a dynamic Chairman,” said Matthew Hindin, Campaign Chair of the NYYRC.  “I always love attending events like these because you can see the candidates in such an open setting and you can get in-depth insight into each candidate’s stance on important issues relevant to the role of the Chairman of the New York Republican State Committee.”

Jason Weingartner, former president of the NYYRC and current executive director of the NYRCC, kicked off the night with warm opening remarks and quickly turned the floor over to Daniel Isaacs who promptly announced he has withdrawn his name from the ballot.   Isaacs had nothing but positive feedback and remarks for Cox and Wojtaszek, stating they are both “excellent choices.”  Both candidates are undoubtedly qualified for the position, remarked Weingartner.

The highlight of the night was hearing each candidate deliver their vision to the entire room.  Ed Cox has an impressive background having served past Presidents, Governors and the Republican Party for decades, and Henry Wojtaszek does as well currently reigning as the dynamic Niagara County GOP Chairman.  Cox led things off by discussing his strategy plans for fundraising, campaigning and communication, and Wojtaszek heated things up by stressing the failures of the party, and outlining his plan for relentlessly revitalizing it.

“My favorite part of the night was when the candidates took questions from the audience,” said Lynn Krogh, president of the NYYRC.  “Some really interesting ones like how each candidate would give young Republicans and minority groups more of a voice in the statewide party, and how the statewide party would support local candidates evoked interesting and candid responses.”

Each candidate brings valuable assets to the table and it will be fascinating to see how things shake out.  During the Q&A session with the audience Cox explained his contacts with influential Republicans nationwide, his efforts statewide, and his intimacy with New York City.  Wojtaszek demonstrated his knowledge of new communication technologies and guerilla campaigning, as well as his relentless passion for stimulating the Republican Party.

Overall this event was a great success from a Republican Party standpoint and really electrifies this race.  The New York Young Republican Club appreciates everyone who participated and attended.  As a reminder, the next Chairman will be elected at a formal meeting which must be called within 15 days after the primary elections which are held on September 15th.  A location is yet to be determined and more details will follow on this.  To access any additional information you can visit: www.nyyrc.com or email Lynn Krogh directly at president@nyyrc.com.
