Punxsutawney Phil predicts six more weeks of winter, but Staten Island Chuck predicts an early spring
ByHappy Groundhog Day.
Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, predicting six more weeks of winter.
But Staten Island Chuck did not see his shadow, predicting an early spring. Here is the video.
I prefer Staten Island Chuck.

We can’t agree on anything anymore, can we? I’m still putting my money on Spring hitting around 3/21.

I think he did. I watched it live on NY1, but the way the camera was angled made it difficult to tell for sure.
Bloomberg was definitely having a heck of time getting Chuck to come out of his crib. You could see the Mayor was getting extremely frustrated, but he was trying to put on a good face. After all, wrestling with varmints is an old political tradition that goes way back to the days of Davy Crockett and Andrew Jackson. Some things just shouldn’t change.
