Who said you need economics knowledge to be Comptroller?
ByCheck out the Post’s pop quiz of our new comptroller, former Nassau county assemblyman Thomas DiNapoli. DiNapoli was chosen after the legislature insisted on going with one of their own, rather than one of the three qualified candidates chosen by an independent panel.
If for some reason our AG has to step down, we can look forward to Silver choosing a fellow assemblyman who may not have a law degree, but likes to watch Law & Order reruns.
This might make for a good sitcom – assemblymen are appointed to government posts they’re not qualified to fill and wacky hijinx ensue!

I always thought it was beyond stupid to have people vote for a technical position. Now I realize it doesn’t really matter, does it?
When more school audits are blown too, we’ll know where to place blame.
