Spencer gets conservative nod:
ByJohn Spencer’s website is claiming it has received a unanimous endorsement by the Conservative Party’s Executive Committee to run for Senate against Hillary Clinton.
At the same time the former Mayor of Yonkers is ready to test out a new TV ad that attacks Clinton on her terrorism record. The ad focuses on the known Al-Qaeda terrorist Iyman Faris who was found guilty in May 1, 2003 of plotting to blow of up the Brooklyn Bridge, who was discovered through the Presidents NSA wire taps. The ad claims that by Hillary fighting against the wiretaps she is leaving our city vulnerable.
For you Spencer fans, you can see the ad here.

Kiss of death!
Anti-choice drunk Spencer using Karl Rove scare tactics that won’t work in NY. Great plan. Ha Ha! That just about sums up all the Republicans have to offer. Keep milking a well that is just about dry.
Wait until you see the ads the Clinton machine pulls out against this drunk.
And the whisper campaign that he is still on the bottle. I’m heading that one up. Keep your eyes open.

Whisper campaign. Now doesn’t that sound lovely? Somebody (God only knows who) must be proud.
What I want to know is how many times can you spin your head around in a minute?

I am one bad ass chick.
Linda Blair has nothing on me.

(who laughed at Vertucci’s comment, even if it wasn’t as funny as Cheney shooting a man in the face who’s minor injuries turned into a minor 3-day stay in the ICU and now a minor heart attack.)

We should hangout sometime.
We can play a game of rugby and watch the Omen.

Meghan,
You say Spencer is using scare tactics. Scare tactics would be him having a commmercial with bin ladens face on it saying that he’s going to come and get you if you vote for Hillary. Stating the fact that NSA wiretaps uncovered a major potential terrorist attack is exactly what it is, facts.

Like I said to Vertucci a few posties ago, the NY Times wrote last week that thwarting the crackpot who wanted to destroy the Brooklyn Bridge with a blowtorch was not connected to the domestic eavesdropping operation (article cited FBI officials). Start reading Salomon.
New Yorkers like to walk and chew gum at the same time. Many many issues and we are not willing to ignore the laundry list of goodies Democrats bring to the table for the sole purpose of electing Bush Republicans and the drunk Spencer who want to fund useless wars.
Hedging this race solely on NSA wiretaps and National Security is big fat loser.
Especially a program run by George Bush and his ilk. Music to my ears.
The majority of New Yorkers who hate Bush (Bush has the lowest approval rating in NY than any other state accrding to SUSA) along with libertarian Republicans and civil liberty conscious Democrats – your down to persuading two people. Salomon and Vertucci
Ha Ha Ha
Meghan
(Who loves how Spencer is trying to act like Bush and Rove. I mean LOVES IT. And can’t wait to see the Hillary war-chest and savvy consultants annihilate the town drunk.)

NY Times said there wasn’t connection. Yeah and the LA Times wrote an article that there was a connection.
What’s your point? Of course the NY Times is going to say there wasn’t a connection. Paul Krugman, the resident economist (or communist) for the NY Times, has been saying the U.S is going into a recession for the last three years because of Bush.
I guess he’ll be right sometime this century.
February 15th, 2006 at 10:23 pm
Krugman is a hack. He is smart but he lets his politics cloud his judgement and he knows that. He is right on a lot of points but is not reality-based sometimes.
Vertucci you need to get over your far-right tendency to have a hissy fit over the NY Times. The editorial board is liberal, but the reporting is the best around and it is and always will be the most accurate and respected.
Judith Miller tried to save Libby’s ass, wrote stories helping Bush sell the Iraq debacle, and the domestic spying story was held until after the election all by the Times. Sounds real liberal to me.
Just because the Wall Street Journal has a right-wing editorial nutso board, doesn’t mean the main paper isn’t yummy.
Meghan
(Who thinks its pathetic when the only retort a person has is to discredit the Times.)

If the GOP intends on backing William Weld, they need to back Spencer and not consider the McFarland option. At least one statewide Republican candidate needs the cross endorsement from the Conservative Party, for both parties’ sake.
