A Reminder That We Are Actually Doing Good Things in Iraq

By Gail Allen

Just in case you seem to think that we are losing the war in Iraq and that no good can come of what we’re doing, read this letter from the Mayor of Tall’Afar, Iraq at the Mudville Gazette. And while you’re reading the part about what these animals do to the bodies of dead children, think of the idiots who have nothing better to do with their lives than to be “outraged” by a stupid cartoon. Then ask yourself to which issue would the outrage be better directed.

It's the end of the post, now what?

You better bark a little louder. Bush’s 12 month abysmal approval rating streak in the 40′s and 30′s streak just tipped clocked back in today at 39%.

Bush Approval Rating Drops to 39%. On par with Nixon for a President with the longest below 50% approval rating streek

Meghan
(who wished this poll was taken right after Cheney-Gate, Bird-Gate, Quail-gate – Ha Ha!)

So typical of the anti-Bushies. When are you people going to learn? We’re not in Iraq to do the popular thing; we’re in Iraq to do the right thing: set up a democratic government while establishing an American presence in the Middle East that will ensure victory against the radical Islamic fundamentalists.

What do Bush’s poll numbers have to do with the price of falafel, anyway? To be so obsessed over polls is very Clintonesque. Bubba didn’t take a dump without conducting a poll, which is probably why history will judge him as one of the most mediocre presidents we’ve ever had.

3

Rick,

Don’t forget Clinton will also be remembered for sending U.S. troops to more countries than any other President.

Funny I don’t remember any protests. Especially considering he dropped bombs on Iraq pretty much every day while President

4

But that was different, silly. Clinton dropped bombs at night in the middle of the desert where they wouldn’t actually hurt anyone (or have any effect).

How else could you explain Saddam’s continued defiance during the 1990s? The growth of al Qaeda and the radical islamic fundamentalists during that time was directly proportional to the weakness of American foreign policy.

5

Yeah, I still have nightmares of our troops being dragged through the street naked in Mogadishu as Clinton shoved his tail between his legs and ran like a 5 year-old after an ice-cream truck.

Wasn’t the 9/11 report that said Bin Laden viewed Mogadishu as weakness in America that strengthened his belief that we couldn’t handle a long protracted war?

6

Comparing a war where thousands of troops are dead and hundreds of thousands of civilians to Bosnia where there was a genocide and Mogadishu is ridiculouso!

Many on the left aren’t anti-war or military force. They are anti THIS war. A useless barbaric lie-based mess of a war.

Over 90% of the country supported going into Afghanistan. Considering the left makes up half the nation must be some lefties who shockingly support force when based on real threats.

Meghan
(Who laughs when they compare Iraq to Clinton’s military efforts. Lame.)

7

It’s a War on Terror. Not a War on “those we will exact revenge on for the 9/11 atrocities.” WIth that, there is no lie when it comes to Iraq.

8

Clinton had military efforts? Now that’s worth a laugh.

What Junior refuses to realize is that we are at war with radical Islamic fundamentalists who want our death. Junior deals in abstracts, and I get the sense doesn’t really have much of a grasp of history.

Take for instance her comment that people on the Left are not anti-military. That’s completely and utterly false. The fact is being anti-military is one of the defining characterstics of the Left and it has been on display in this country in every major conflict since Korea.

Sure, they initially supported the battle in Afghanistan, but when Americans started dying, they wanted to wrap it up and come home. They are the naysayers, the narrow-minded anchors that hang around the neck of American prosperity.

You see, Junior, Iraq is but one front in an ongoing war between our way of life and a way of life that seeks to subjugate all those within its reach through tyranny and oppression.

Deny it at your own peril, but this is a war that must be, and will be, fought. If you don’t think that it should be fought, then perhaps you should just step aside and let the adults go to work.

PS. You don’t think that there is no comparison between the genocide in Somalia and Bosnia and the genocide committed by Saddam Hussein in Iraq? Just how simple do you people get?

Does Sean hannity e-mail or fax you the tired, pathetic GOP talking points, or hand it to you after sex?

It’s funny that your fear-mongering rhetoric can’t get a Republican elected dog catcher in NYC, the site of ground zero. Actually if you are really a Democrat and are super-liberal like Bloomberg there are exceptions.

Asshat no one is denying there is an anti-war wing of the Democratic base. You need to review your facts, as well if you think it is absolute or a majority defining opinion for every military action.

As for history, look at FDR and Johnson and then get back to me about the anti-war all-encompasing defined left. Wake up asshat.

Meghan

How do you know when you have a liberal beat in a debate? When they change the subject and call you names.

Thanks for being so predictable and juvenile, Junior. Don’t ever change. Though I suspect you never will.
