Does this guy have no shame?
ByYesterday I had the joy of registering my son for kindergarten. For you liberals out there it will pain you to hear that I registered him for catholic school, I know the horror. A cute note is that it’s actually the same grammar school my wife and I graduated from.
While there in the gym they had tables with information spread out across them. As I went down the list the last one on the table caused me to laugh. It was an ugly, cheap, orange pamphlet that was titled the Attorney General Elliott Spitzer’s safety tips for parents. Smack in the middle of the cover was his ugly mug with that fake smile. I swear he must have to take an aspirin every time he takes a photo because his smile looks like it hurts. When you open it, it gives you bullet points on different things that as a parent you already know unless you were brain dead.
This pamphlet was an obvious attempt for self-promotion, it might as well had elect Elliott in 06’ on it. His face on the cover was the main focal point of the pamphlet placed smack in the middle making it what you saw first, not the safety tips, which was suppose to be the point of the pamphlet. What I found most amazing is that this is the same guy who came out and questioned Governor Pataki’s call for tax-credits for private school. I don’t know who I’m disappointed in more, his lame attempt for votes or the schools decision to put that piece of junk on the table.

You have to give the chump credit for knowing how to brand himself. It’s no surprise that Spitzer as Governor has become a bit of a fait accompli in many circles around the state. After all, Eliot is the coolest guy in the room, just ask him, he’ll tell ya.

Get used to it. He is going to be the next Governor of NYS. (But My focus is really getting the etch-a-sketch gerrymandered state Senate seats out of the hands of Bruno and his thugs.)
Finally we will have someone addressing education, healthcare, workers’ rights, reproductive freedom and all the yummy progressive issues that haven’t seen the light of day because Pataki wants to impress the Republican party that yearns to bring culture back to the days of 1776 America.
I’m counting down the days.

I love when Democrats act like this is the 1920’s.
Education? Meghan, one problem this country doesn’t have is a good education. Coincidently, yesterday the Financial Times did its annual ranking of colleges around the world. U.S. colleges took 4 of the top five spots and 8 out of the top 10. You could throw all the money in the world into a public school system and have the best teachers in the world but it’s never going to help a kid unless the PARENT takes an active role in the child’s education. Long Island has one of the best public school systems in the country. They use the same textbooks, teach the same stuff and have the same quality of teachers. The difference is the parents out their demand they know what their kids are doing and take responsibility for their success and failure. The same goes for private school in NYC. I met one young girl while registering my kid for kindergarten. She was telling me how great the education was at the school and that she got a full paid scholarship to high school. If I had to guess I would say her parents had allot to do with that.
You should go take your own study of kids that are doing poorly in the NYC school system and I would bet that a overwhelming majority will have parents who don’t give a crap. While there you will also find many kids in the NYC school system that do great, like for instance those in the Asian community. Again I’m willing to bet those kid’s parents are on them like white on rice.
Worker’s Rights? Again please, we have more labor laws on our books today then we know what to do with. You want to take control of your job, take the risk the entrepreneurs in this country do and start your own company hiring thousand people and then tell me how weak you think the labor laws are.
Reproductive Freedom? I guess all your friends are having their abortions in the back of allies.

Yes it’s all the fault of the degenerate black and hispanic families and how they raise their kids.
The usual Republican lines peppered with more PC language so as to not look overtly bigotted.
Labor laws and healthcare and a yummy progressive agenda from our next Governor – Elliott Spitzer!
Pobre hijo no Tom Golisano
As if they Governor race was ever competitive. State Senate is where the action willplay out. Don’t waste your time internalizing over Spitzer. He’s goingto be your Governor very sooon so get used to it.

I’m not saying anything other then the fact that more money is not going to fix education. From my personal experience growing up in Queens with friends in both private and public schools, the ones who did the best and are doing the best now are the ones whose parents were strict on them with their school work. The kids whose parents didn’t care are not doing so well with some even having jail records.
As far as your excitement for Spitzer. If you look at his record as AG and the companies he went against and the layoffs that followed from those companies as a result, he’s actually cost more jobs in this state then he’s created.
Good job Elliot!
